UPDATE: The people demanded more Wiley and the people won! Closed Sessions uploaded an extended version of “Vibration” onto Spotify (it’s also on the US New Releases playlist) that includes a new, energetic verse. He sounds like he has some grievances to air on Club Wiley. We’ll have to wait and see.

Original post: Chicago emcee, Alex Wiley, is getting busy once again for his next project with a new video. There’s a lot going on in this one. First the visuals draw from Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.” But to see the strokes in motion is extra trippy and fitting for the theme of the track. Second, the video turns into a lyric video at points in case you can’t keep up with Wiley’s agile flows, which leads to the third point of the theme. From what I can tell, Alex is playing off of the idea of feeling out vibes from people and situations. He can tell, whether you’re a rapper like him or a love interest, if you’re a genuine person or faking the front. The chanting in the background is complemented by a favorable use of auto-tune at the end of the track. Everything from the illustrations (WindeauxVision) to the beat to the lyrics are wavy, literally.

Village Party coming this Spring.
