Tomorrow marks a special day in sneaker history. March 26, 1987 is the day the first pair of Air Max were released. The Tinker Hatfield creation is one of the most popular kicks in the Nike catalogue, and in celebration the brand is calling March 26th “Air Max Day.” So tomorrow wear a pair of Air Max and show the world by hashtagging #AIRMAX in your pics on any social networking site!

Nike also has a sneaker coming out tomorrow for the special occasion called the Nike Air Max 1 “Air Max Day.” This pair of Air Max originally had a yellow vintage-looking sole, but by the looks of the detailed images the sole was switched to have Volt detailing, while keeping the original Sail/University Red- Natural Grey colorway in tact. The shoe also has the numbers “3.26″ on the tongue to mark the Nike holiday. Already available by pre-order, this pair of Air Max are a quickstrike release, meaning they’re extremely limited.
