When it comes to basketball sneakers Michael Jordan may rule the sneaker world but Nike’s Barkeley sneaks have been able to hold their own and developed their own following. Over the years the sneaker has seen some changes, Nike has gone and updated the materials on the shoe and released several new color ways. Earlier this year Nike once again revamped the sneaker and meshed the Charles Barkely shoe with the beloved Nike Foamposite then dubbing the partnership the Barkey posite max.  During NBA all-star weekend Nike released the Area 72 Barkley Posites which were received well by sneakerheads and then releasing the Sixers colorway which paid homage to Charles Barkleys first NBA stop.

The next colorway take us back to Barkley’s playing days for the Phoenix Suns.  With an all court purple mid and upper with hits of orange accents and clear soles these will probably be a head turner for the summer.   The “Suns” Barkley Posite will release at select retailers on May 18, 2013 like Rock City Kicks and other Nike Sport Wear accounts. Check you local sneaker store for the release.
