Jordan Brand is honoring the 20 year anniversary of MJ’s short run in the minors with the Birmingham Barons, creating two special editions retro sneakers in the teams colors to remember that moment in history when MJ stepped away from basketball to try his hand at baseball.

The Air Jordan 1 and Air Jordan 9 “Birmingham Barons” feature the team’s black/white-grey color combination as well as pinstripes detailing  which draw inspiration from the Baron’s team jerseys.

The Barons” edition of the Air Jordan 9 Retro come in a white, black and neutral grey colorway and feature a white based leather with black and grey colorway. It will be a general release, so look out to hit several Jordan Brand accounts.

The other release in the pack will be the Jordan 1 Retro High OG also know as the “Barons” edition. This pair of ones comes in a white, black and wolf grey, Jordan brand opted to use a different grey on the 1′s. Separating itself from the 9′s the 1′s feature a white and black leaner upper with grey  accents and pinstripes on the sock liner with “Nike Air” branding on he tongue and soles. This pair on the other hand will be a limited release and will be sold at selected Jordan Brand accounts.
