After bringing out the big guns this past Saturday with Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon to close out the winter season of “SNL,” the sketch comedy show tapped Drake to open the new season .

“The Nothing Was The Same” rapper-who just earned another plaque for his double platinum selling single “Hold On We’re Going Home”- acted as host and performer for “SNL” two years ago, in which he did a few skits and performed “Headline” and “Make Me Proud” with label mate Nicki Minaj.

Drake’s second appearance on “SNL” is set to air January 14.
