The Doggfather Speaks With MTV On Anniversary Of Classic LP
This month has been quite a nostalgic one for Hip-Hop with three of it’s most revered albums turning 20. The Wu-Tang Clan’s debut, Enter The 36 Chambers, as well as A Tribe Called Quest’s third LP, Midnight Marauders, celebrated two decades since release, both going on to become pivotal works of art that continue to influence music, fashion and culture to this day. While these two NYC crews were breaking ground on the East Coast, a young dogg out West was stepping out of the yard for his first time as a solo artist as well.
Snoop Dogg‘s seminal major label debut, Doggystyle, was released exactly 20 years ago today and the album’s impact on the game can still be felt. The Boss Dogg recently sat down with MTV to discuss the longevity of the album, what it meant for him and his career, and why he’s never listened to the whole thing. Check it out.
