Chris RockThe Source Magazine was on the red carpet for Columbia Pictures’ latest comedy “Grown Ups 2,” at AMC Lincoln Square in New York City on Wednesday evening.  The sequel directed by Dennis Dugan stars comedy greats Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, David Spade and Kevin James.

Chris Rock who is reprising his role as Kurt in the film is hilarious per usual. On the red carpet when asked what he thought of fellow Brooklynite Jay-Z’s new album “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” Rock told reporters, “I love Jay-Z’s album, it’s really good, “Tom Ford” is my favorite.”

We also spoke with singer Darius Rucker, formerly the lead singer of “Hootie & the Blowfish,” and currently a mega-successful country artist.

Which “Grown Ups 2″ comedian is your favorite?

Darius Rucker: All of them, but you know I’ve known Chris Rock a long time, so he’s my guy, but I love them all.

What are you working on musically?

Darius Rucker: This tour’s been going on, so I am going to keep doing that and then probably put another record out sometime next year.

Are there any hip-hop artists you would like to collaborate with?

Sure, I’d love to sing a hook on a Jay-Z song or a Dr. Dre song, that would be awesome.

Have you heard “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” yet?

Darius Rucker: I actually heard a couple of tracks from it. I bought it last night, I downloaded it last night and I’m a huge Jay-Z fan, so I just cant’t wait to sit down and listen to it.

“Grown Ups 2″ hits theaters this Friday, July 12.
