Gentlemen, imagine yourself getting fresh for a long day of work and then your best friend’s birthday party at night. Your outfit is clean and ironed. Your shoes are shined. You even got that new Rollie to show off with the Rollie ring. Now you just need an organic pomade to get your hair in order and a face lotion to fight the dry, Winter air for the next 24 hours. (Ladies, pay attention. We all know men aren’t the best listeners/readers.) Here’s where HUE For Every Man steps in.

For the creators of HUE, what started as a mission to create the best hair and skin products for Blacks, with all natural ingredients, became a fight for all men to have great hair and skin. Their key ingredients of Mango, Shea Butter, Argan Oil, and Primrose Oil offer a combination of vitamins and anti-oxidants to give you better looking and feeling skin and hair that other products only boast of. I can personally attest to the quality of their first product out right now, the pomade. Oh, and Dwight Howard, Anthony Anderson, Grant Hill, Jared Dudley, Nas, Marcellus Wiley, and Sugar Shane Mosley do too.

We had a chance to ask the HUE team, composed of Kyle Frazier (Graphic Design), Jessica Estrada (Branding/Marketing), and Marcus Harvey (Celebrity barber/stylist for Nas and others), about their company and what makes them so unique. Check out their answers below and a short promo video with every possible barber co-sign you could ever ask for. You can stay up to date on their products HERE.

Describe in your own words the kind of man that uses HUE products.

HUE is for the progressive male that is trying to maintain a timeless appearance. A man that invests in brands, not just products, that speaks to his lifestyle. A HUE man knows his value and wants to invest in himself and his appearance. HUE is for the confident, working affluent professional.

Was there a specific moment or story, or was it rather a trend you noticed that there weren’t hair products geared towards Asians, Latinos, and Blacks?

When studying the market we realized there weren’t any aspirational hair and skin care brands for men of color. We wanted to change that.

HUE is the start of a revolution for a truly innovative 21st century approach to men’s hair care and skincare. Our world is changing. Cultures are blending to form a new voice. Inspiration for HUE came out of a need for cultural diversity. We realized that men of African, Latin, and Middle Eastern descent had specific hair care and skincare needs that weren’t being met. Afro texture, curly, course and multi-textural hair products were filled with petroleum, silicone, and synthetically based ingredients.

IMG_20131215_214604Has it become a challenge to shift creating hair products for all kinds of men’s hair now?

We wanted to create all natural products that work, first and foremost. We realized that when using all natural ingredients and formulating performance products with a purpose that the natural oils adhere to your hair pattern, which will work for Every Man. It is more of a challenge trying to maintain being an all natural brand rather than creating products for different hair textures.
