Stones Throw Records might be a small indie label, when compared to the rest of the industry’s stalwarts, but its influence has been massive. For over 15 years, Peanut Butter Wolf and his motley crew of producers, emcees, singers, and all around odd balls have created one of the major sources of quality music that have challenged listeners notions of genre. This label is responsible for a number of classics from artist such as J Dilla, Madlib, Homeboy Sandman, MF Doom, and many more. It’s name and founder have become synonymous with creative, ground breaking tunes.

To celebrate their massive contribution to the world of music, Director Jeff Broadway, editor Rob Bralver, and the entire Stones Throw family have come together to bring a documentary about the famed label to the big screen. Our Vinyl Weights A Ton will give viewers an inside look at the people responsible for the label’s success, bringing together exclusive interviews, rare concert footage, and an in-depth look inside their studio. It will have features from Kanye West, Tyler The Creator, Questlove, and Talib Kweli.
