Supreme New York has cancelled the in-store release of the Supreme Foamposites thanks to sneaker heads camping out in the thousands which caused safety issues with pedestrians as well as sneaker buyers. When the sneaker was announced on Monday, lines began forming. Wednesday evening, sneaker heads covered the intersection of Prince St. at Lafayette all in hopes of getting their hands on the release of the Supreme x Nike Foamposite, which dropped Thursday at 11 am.
Later into the night Supreme posted the word they would have to cancel the in store sale of the sneakers posting the message via Instagram and in the storefront. The plan to cancel the show release only affects the New York location and will go on sale as schedule online so if you planned on buying the shoe all hope isn’t lost. After a few Foamposite releases over the last few months it seemed the chaos known as sneaker campouts were over once again Nike proves us wrong with this release. Check out the photos of the hectic prerelease at New York’s Supreme store.
