Tampa Bay Buccaneers release the preview of the brand new uniforms for 2014
New season, new look is what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have decided! Since 1997, the Bucs have not changed their design or their colors for the uniform. BUT, expect this upcoming season they will have a brand new look! The team revealed their brand new uniform on Twitter Monday.
The Tampa, Florida team stated on Monday that they have in fact a new NFL Nike Elite 51 Uniform Design. This new design still has replications of the Bucs old uniform, but has been reconstructed to a new modern day aesthetic look for the team. This season, expect the Bucs colors to reflect the history of both the team and the Tampa Bay area. The colors now are a brighter shade of red, or as they call it “Buccaneer Red,” with a hint of orange on both the jersey and the pants.
The team will be the first NFL team to have borders around the jersey numbers, the front of the jersey, as well as the back. The red uniform will have white numbers on the body outlined in the Tampa Bay Orange, with red numbers on the shoulders; the white jersey will have red numbers on the body and shoulders. The co-chairman Edward Glazer had this to say about the design, “Today marks the culmination of more than two years of research and planning to bring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into a new and exciting era of our history,” reports their site Buccaneers.com.
Not only have the jerseys changed this season, but also the helmets as well. Look forward to seeing a new logo on the teams helmets. The helmets now will have an enlarge flag on the back of it to showcase the evolution of the franchise. The flag will also be enlarged on the side of the pants uniform too.
The francise believes that the redesigning of the uniform will reflect the past history and championships the Bucs have achieved and the future success of their team starting this season.
