The NBA Players Association have elected a new President and Vice President

Derek Fisher’s time as NBA Players Association President has finally ended and with that end comes change and a new President. Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers has won the NBAPA Presidency. Unfortunately for Chris Paul he has inherited a lot of work, Paul’s job will be to get the NBPA back on track following Fisher’s presidency which included a lockout.

This new election also marks the first time the NBAPA will have a Vice President. Roger Mason Jr will be stepping in to the VP shoes for the first time in NBA history.

Today marks the first change in power since Derek Fisher took over in 2006 for Antonio Davis along with the first time a superstar has taken over since Patrick Ewing’s term ended in 2001. All across twitter players and ex-players showed their support for Paul and Mason.
