Rick’s third single should be fun.
Its Kanye West with whom Jay Z has collaborated with most in his career, featuring Mr. West on numerous solo tracks (on both the production and rap side of things), and eventually crafting an entire LP with the Chicago artist (Watch The Throne, 2011). Nas’ history on wax with Hov has also been closely examined, as they’ve done numerous songs of note together since their highly publicized feud (“Black Republicans” – Hip Hop Is Dead, 2006; “Success” – American Gangster, 2007; “BBC” – Magna Carta…Holy Grail, 2013), but it is Rick Ross with whom Jay Z might have the most flawless and impressive track record. Dating back to the remix of Ross’ first-ever single “Hustlin”, which was released in 2006, the MMG CEO and Roc Nation boss have put together quite a catalog, including the original “Maybach Music”, “Free Mason”, “3 Kings” and their current fan-favorite “F*ckwithmeyouknowigotit”.
It appears the two aren’t done putting hits together, as Ross revealed to the crew over at Hot 97 that the next single from his new album (Mastermind, TBR: December 17th) will feature his former label head, Jay Z. It will be the second collaboration the two have done this year, and given their history, it’ll cause a smidge more than a murmur upon release.
