The NFL bans customized facemasks
A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away there was a league called the National Football League. During this distant time believe it or not the NFL once allowed players to have some fun out on the field. As of the last few years the NFL is working to slowly remove anything fun or cool looking from the field.
Customized facemasks have now been banned by the NFL unless the player has medical clearance stating that the mask is a necessity. Players who have been known to wear the customized facemasks are Darnell Dockett (Cardinals), Chris Canty (Ravens), Robert Mathis (Colts), and Justin Tuck (Giants). Out of the four mentioned Dockett and Mathis have wore the facemask as a fad while Tuck and Canty medically need the facemask.
The ban of facemasks joins the NFL’s additional bans on touchdown celebrations this offseason. Joining that already extensive list this offseason is spiking the ball and spinning the ball.
