Spurs bring their brooms to Memphis

For the 5th time in the last fifteen years the San Antonio Spurs are Western Conference Champions and are going to the NBA Finals. The Spurs completed the sweep of the Memphis Grizzlies with a 93-86 victory.

Fueled by Tony Parker’s 37 points the Spurs dominated the Grizzlies who cut the lead time and time again, but just couldn’t fully close the gap. Zach Randolph continued to struggle in this series shooting 4-13 from the floor tonight. All the credit in the world to the Memphis Grizzlies who played hard throughout the series but sometimes you’re just not the better team.

A veteran team like the Spurs will most definitely benefit from the series coming to close early so they can get some extra rest. More importantly Gregg Popovich now has more team to prepare his club for the Miami Heat or Indiana Pacers.

The Spurs have never lost an NBA Finals series.
