…Versace
Migos has exploded onto the scene in 2013, and if you think its just Drake’s verse on Versace that got the movement going, you’re dead wrong. Their mixtape, YRN, has landed on just about every possible year-end list you could think of, and their monstrous follow up to “Versace”, “Hanna Montana”, has heated up the airwaves and clubs in very similar fashion, leading one to understand that if anything, the Atlanta natives have their feet deeply rooted into the ground, and aren’t going anywhere as quickly as most predicted.
Yesterday, on a frigid day in NYC we got a chance to chat with Migos (from L to R: Takeoff, Offset, and Quevo), to catch up on how they plan on ending their 2013, and setting off the new year. YRN 2 was expected to be out this year, but they revealed it would certainly be out at the top of the year, and (not seen in the video), revealed A$AP Ferg and Sean Kingston to be among some of the guest contributors. During our chat we touched on the widely spread sentiment that a large amount of rappers are now rapping like them (Drake on “The Language”, J. Cole on the “TKO” remix), and an interesting back and forth between them and Chief Keef, which resulted in them acting “out of character”. Watch our conversation with the potent southern trio and prepare for their new mixtape in 2014.
