Thieves play the numbers after stealing Lotto Scratchers vending machine

TheSource.com, The SourceShameless thieves figured they’d try their hand at playing lottery numbers in an attempt to luck up by stealing a Lotto Scratchers vending machine out of a Lucky supermarket in Fremont this past weekend.

The vending machine was pushed out of the supermarket in the 4000 block of Mission Boulevard at approximately 3 a.m. Saturday. The machine was found a couple of blocks from the store a couple of hours later; however, the cash had been stolen.

Though a majority of the stolen tickets have been recovered in the machine, the numbers of the suspected stolen tickets have been flagged by the California Lottery.

With the tickets being traceable, if the suspected thieves try to cash in a winning ticket, investigators will be informed of their location.
