Meanwhile last week in New Jersey, thousands of residents with warrants for their arrest lined up to turn themselves in for lesser punishments.

In hopes to give residents a second chance, the law enforcement authorities of the Garden state launched a “safe surrender” initiative, allowing nonviolent offenders the opportunity to resolve their cases quickly, with lesser fines, and no jail time. The four day initiative took place from last Wednesday to Saturday in a Jersey City church. The church was set up with small mock courtrooms consisting of a judge, prosecutor, and public defender.

Throughout the night people waited on line to be cleared, mostly of child support sagas and past due tickets. The first day alone, 2000 people were waiting to be seen.

Shoutout to all the people who are bringing in the holidays with one less burden on their back! You can now lower your middle finger to the law. Yes Lawd.
