“Right message; wrong messenger” Trinidad James confessed regarding the comments he made last week. While in New York for the Converse Rubber Tracks concert, the Atlanta bred rapper stated that the “South runs New York right now.” It was definitely an unexpected low blow and created a firestorm of controversy; most notably, Maino’s twitter rant, where he dissed both James and his fellow rotten apple emcees. There have been a lot of voices weighing in on the situation, but finally the culprit finally explained himself.
“What happened was, I picked the wrong place to have a barbershop conversation. This is not an apology and I’m never apologizing for the truth, I don’t believe in it, but this to let the city of New York know, I wasn’t trying to disrespect you at all.”
Maino might not get his apology, but at least Trinidad James did admit that he made a mistake. While it might be a hallow explanation at best, he at least owned up to the fact that some things are best left unsaid and that he wants his friend in New York to benefit from their hometown radio station. It was actually fairly philanthropic and his message might have made such a huge impact because there was some truth to it. Check out the video yourself and tell us what you think.
