Waka Flocka Flame dropped by Tim Westwood’s Crib Session U.K. and somehow managed to add to the confusion surrounding his beef with longtime collaborator/mentor Gucci Mane. Waka, clearly suffering from fatigue or trying to avoid the awkwardness exuding out of Westwood, skirted around most of the questions about the rift.
This situation began in March, when Gucci Mane took to twitter to air out his protege’s disloyalty and publicly announce Waka’s dismissal from 1017 Bricksquad imprint. In the following months, the internet was left in limbo, hoping to see their favorite Ferrari Boys get back in the studio to record their second mixtape. In June, it seemed like the beef was over, an answer to their fans’ prayers, when Gucci Mane stated that it was all due to a “miscommunication” and events were “misconstrued.”
Well, it turns out that Gucci’s words may not have been the whole truth. Waka practically avoided acknowledging Gucci Mane’s presence. He states that he is making too much money for his own crew, that he has outgrown his old mentor. It seems that Bricksquad may be without one of it’s aces for the time being. Unfortunately, we were looking forward to that compilation tape.
Waka also discusses his current track with T.I., “50k Remix”, and London. Its an odd video, but pretty entertaining, especially when he and Westwood discuss “track runners.” You can also check out his freestyle below.
