The Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers got the Western Conference playoffs off to an exciting start with a game that came down to the last minute. The Super Splash Brothers, Klay Thompson and Steph Curry united for 36 points to push the Warriors ahead in the Staples Center. Although Chris Paul and Blake Griffin combined for 44 points, they weren’t able to prevail at home. Despite taking the loss, Los Angeles came through with some crazy dunks and huge slams like this monstrous alley-oop from DeAndre Jordan.
Losing at home is a terrible way to start the series, the Clippers look to bounce back in game 2 this Monday. Keep your eyes out for this series! With the way these two teams played today, it won’t be surprising to see the series go all the way to game 7. Watching the battle between the Warriors and the Clippers today was a perfect example of why the Western Conference is the stronger conference in the NBA. In a post-game interview, Steph Curry expressed that the Warriors were successful because the played the game their way instead of following the Clippers pace.
