DC Rap Duo Peso & Pacman premiere video for “Escape From North Korea” filmed in Pyongyang”
Yes you read the headline right, two rappers you most likely have never heard of pulled off one of the most daring and unlikely stunts in recent history, not just in hip hop but in entertainment period.
According to UK publication The Guardian in conjunction with their manager who has connections with individuals that specialize in bringing people to Pyongyang (the capital city of North Korea) the Washington DC based Peso & Pacman made a plan to film their music video there. They raised over $10,000 dollars on crowd funding website Kickstarter and the rest is history.
Although they seem to be pretty nonchalant about the the whole thing, they admitted at one point how nervous the experience made them and were glad to be able to make it out in one piece. The video is pretty simple and the song honestly nothing to write home about , however you cant help but be extra intrigued at all the footage they were able to take.Lately North Korea has been in the news a lot thanks to Dennis Rodman’s recent trip there for “Basketball Diplomacy” and his incredible WWE style rant directed at CNN anchor Chris Cuomo while there.
As of now they have no plans to return.
