The Chicago Bulls and their fans were hit hard yet again when their star point guard Derrick Rose suffered a torn meniscus and is expected to miss the rest of the 2013-14 season. Rose had also missed the 2012-13 season after a torn ACL. Rose has been adamant that he won’t let the injuries get him down and that he’s working hard to return.
Before the Bulls game against the Cavaliers yesterday Rose was seen getting some shots up during pregame shootaround. The announcers said he’s hopeful about being able to play Spring basketball, rejoining the Bulls in the playoffs. The Eastern Conference is pretty terrible and it’s looking like the Bulls won’t have any trouble making it to the postseason. They’re currently at 21-20 with the 5th spot in the East. Now as for Rose actually playing in the postseason that I’ll have to see for myself. We all watched as he sat on the sideline last year while the Bulls played their hearts out against the Brooklyn Nets and then eliminated by the champion Miami Heat. Rose himself said he didn’t rule out returning but he also said that last year and I also watched him do pregame shots AND dunks last year so I’m not that optimistic; but I am hoping he proves me wrong.
