Talib Kweli literally embodies the voices of the youth and elderly in “Hamster Wheel.”
Talib Kweli paints a picture with his lyrics, but makes his vision crystal clear in his video to “Hamster Wheel,” off his latest album Prisoner of Conscious.
Talib’s voice physically embodies a young boy, an elderly woman, and two woman who bump shoulders at a street corner, a business man and more.
Each person continues telling the story of common occurrences in the day in the life of a woman, who’s suggestive occupation is a prostitute, and her perspective and response to society’s objectification of women.
The visuals and directing deserve more credit than I can give, so peep the visual art above and gain knowledge.
