Kendrick Lamar Spearheads BET Hip-Hop Awards With Controversial Verse

BET-The-Cypher

For weeks the streets and the ‘net have been buzzing with anticipation for everybody’s favorite part of the annual BET Hip-Hop Awards: the cyphers. When footage of the TDE cypher leaked, interest was immediately piqued by the not-so-thinly veiled shots Kendrick Lamar sent at Drake (or Papoose depending on your interpretation). In addition to K. Dot’s fiery barbs, his Top Dawg Entertainment brethren Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q and new signee Isiah Rashad joined in to deliver memorable rhymes. Two other cliques cyphered in unison at the Hip-Hop Awards: A$AP Mob (A$AP Ferg, A$AP Ant, A$AP Nast, A$AP Twelvy and de facto leader A$AP Rocky) and Slaughterhouse (Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Royce da 5’9″ and Joe Budden). But the chyphers weren’t just about crews, plenty of young upcoming rhymers and respected veterans shared the cypher space including Action Bronson, Jon Conner, Rapsody and Lil’ Kim. Check out all the cyphers and hit the comments to let us know who you think had the best verse
