Set to compete in the NFC Championship game tomorrow are division rivals the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers. While the quarterback match-up here is no Manning-Brady Bowl, it certainly has the promising potential to amount to that. It’s the fourth meeting between the two teams who are both led by passers making their sophomore debut as NFL starters.
While drafted in 2011, Colin Kaepernick only made his first appearance as a Niner in the middle of the 2012 season filling in for an injured Alex Smith. He went on to become the full-time starting quarterback and led the team to its second straight NFL playoffs. Last season Kaepernick took the team back to the playoffs and won their first Super Bowl since 1994. To do it again he must first go through Russell Wilson and crew.
Despite having just two postseason victories under his belt as an NFL quarterback, Wilson’s Seahawks dominate the Niners when the two teams meet in Seattle. Needless to say, this game will be loud and intense as Kaepernick and the Niners look to make their way to the Super Bowl for a second straight season, even though home-field advantage may weigh in favor of a Seahawks win.
