Lil’ Wayne & company, better known as Young Money, didn’t fare too well on the charts when their sophomore album was released–Rise Of An Empire only sold 32,000 copies in its first week and has yet to crack the 100,000 mark–but “Senile”, featuring 3 of YM’s 4 core members, is a standout not only from this album, but from Wayne, Nicki & Tyga’s recent catalog. The song, produced by David D.A. Doman, is accompanied by a Colin Tilley-directed music video that features dementia at its finest, in case anyone was wondering why the song was called “senile”.
Lil’ Wayne kicks it with his fake family, Nicki Minaj takes on he gangster misses persona and Tyga puts on his gas mask (again, see: Chris Brown “Loyal”) as the YM trio gets busy on the minimally invasive, sonically explosive instrumental.
