Yasiin Bey voluntarily subjects himself to Guantanamo Bey force-feeding procedure.

As Ramadan begins, which is the ninth month of the Muslim year that consists of dusk until dawn fasting, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) goes through standard-procedure of being forcefully fed at Guantanamo Bey all 120 detainees face as they begin their hunger-strike. 44 of the 120 detainees fasting are currently being force-fed against their will.

A leaked document revealed the militar.. ahem, ‘standard’ operating procedure for force-feeding detainees. They strap the detainee to a chair and force a feed-tubing down one nostril until all the liquified food is released into the body of the detainee.

During the four-minute film created by Human Rights organization Reprieve and Bafta award-winning director Asif Kapadia, Yasiin Bey willingly experiences the procedure first-hand.
