Sony will finally be unveiling its 13-inch Digital Paper device this May. The weight of this newly designed tech-toy is just 12.6 oz. Some of the features of the tech include a high resolution 1,200 x 1,600, 16-level grayscale touchscreen display, complete with a stylus for those who prefer a pen-like feel. In addition, Sony is claiming that the Digital Paper will offer a three-week battery life with both AC and USB charging compatibility. Full letter-size documents can be displayed as annotation friendly PDFs. Additional features include 4GB of memory and the ability to load documents over WiFi.
Is Sony really trying to aim to wipe out paper once and for all? (Forgetting we already have tablets) or could it be just an expensive waste of time. Who knows! we wont know until we try it. One thing for sure though if this is the end for paper, this is really going to mess up the rules of Rock Paper Scissors, because we’re pretty sure a rock could beat this thing but scissors not so much.
Sony has put a price tag of $1,100 USD for each device. Stay tuned for the official release of the Sony Digital Paper in the coming months.
