After a victory in game 1 , the Washington Wizards returned to the United Center to face Defensive Player of the Year Joakim Noah and the Chicago Bulls. The Wizards started out strong with a 17 point lead in the first quarter. Chicago’s offense kicked in to take the control of the lead, and would soon collapse again in the fourth quarter, allowing the Wizards to come back and send the game into overtime where the Washington would eventually win 101-99. The Wizards was led by second year shooting guard Bradley Beal who scored 26 points after a disappointing performance in game one.
The Chicago Bulls had great production from the bench with DJ Augustin and Taj Gibson scoring a combined 47 points. The contribution of both Augustin and Gibson, paired with Joakim Noah’s 20 point 12 rebound outing was not enough to lead the team to victory. The Chicago Bulls will head to the Verizon Center down 2-0, where they will have to find a way to match the Washington Wizards and their offensive production. You can catch game 3 this Friday at 8 pm (EST) on ESPN.
