The Wu Reminisce On Two Decades Of Dominance
It’s been 20 years since the clan from Shaolin granted us entry into Hip-Hop’s sacred 36 Chambers. Since their seminal debut hit charts in November of ’93, Wu-Tang Clan: the RZA, the GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon the Chef, U-God, Ghostface Killah and the M-E-T-H-O-D Man have left an indelible mark on the face of popular music and revolutionized the rap genre as a collective as well as with their solo efforts.
Although they started with making great music, the Wu’s influence has gone on to touch multiple facets of pop culture. Clothing, films, tv shows, comic books, video games and more have all felt the sting of Staten Island’s Killah Bees over the last two decades. The Clan recently chopped it up with Diddy’s Revolt TV and spoke on where they came from, the impact they’ve had, what it feels like to have such consistency and longevity, and what the future holds for them. Check it out above and if you don’t have their classic debut, Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, now’s as good a time as any to download it here.
