Yasiin Bey, the artist formerly known as Mos Def,  has been relatively quiet on the music front since 2009′s “The Ecstatic.” He’s reportedly looking to break his silence at the end of this week.

The former Mighty Mos will be performing three new songs live from Africa on January 17 at 5:30 p.m. as a part of his newly announced “Time Is Always Now” campaign. The performance is set to commemorate Muhammad Ali’s birthday and will be live streamed from a location that will be revealed after the show.
