Not *everybody* is friends on the left coast
YG‘s new album, My Krazy Life, is expected to do decent numbers of roughly 55,000 copies sold in its first week on the shelves, and with it has come a press run moving at a brisk pace, as YG has done everything from multi-song performances on Jimmy Kimmel‘s innovative late night post, to lengthy interview spots on all the major radio stations, including Power 105.1 & Hot 97. While on Funkmaster Flex’s infamous nighttime Hot 97 show, YG let loose with a freestyle over a Snoop Dogg & Xzibit classic, and while he was at it, let loose with a couple subtle-but-not-so-really-subtle shots at two of his west coast “companions”, YMCMB artist Tyga and Bay area upstart Problem, both of whom are known adversaries of the Pushaz Ink/Def Jam artist.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 last week, YG admitted the only reason he got into rap is because a rapper from California dissed him, and he felt it appropriate to respond on wax. Despite coaxing from Angela Yee, DJ Envy and of course Charlamagne, YG refused to reveal the name of the rapper who made the original diss record, but given recent events, we wouldn’t be surprised if it were either Tyga or Problem.
