5 years after the debut of Volume 1, Asher Roth delivers The Greenhouse Effect Vol 2
A little over half a decade after he brought us Vol 1, Asher Roth re-enlisted Don Cannon and DJ Drama to hit us with a sequel to the inaugural mixtape of his career. The Rothman already gave us a taste of what to expect with his renditions of “Pass That Dutch,” and “Blurred Lines,” along with “Pop Radio x Pearly Gates,” which he shared just hours ago via his soundcloud. Now it’s up to you to determine if the rest of the tape is consistent with its critically acclaimed predecessor.
Although Rothfans are thrilled to have another Asher project channeling through their earbuds, the fact that we’ve yet to receive a sophomore studio album warrants some speculation. There were numerous mentions that the project – initially entitled ‘Is This Too Orange?’ – was slated to drop last year. After several pushbacks and Roth’s announcement of the name change – out of respect for labelmate Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’ release – we’re still waiting. Maybe he strategically planned to make that update tomorrow for #AshWednesday…or maybe not. In the interim, take a listen to ‘The Greenhouse Effect Vol 2′ after the jump.
